Rules for Living
Adapted and Directed by: Erez Drigues
Each family has its own rules: When you come home for a holiday meal, you just know – your dad absolutely has to tell an embarrassing joke at the most inappropriate moment, that’s a rule; Your sister, bless her soul, will comment on your outfit even if you didn’t ask for her opinion, that's a rule; And of course, you know that Aunt Tzipi will ask for dessert before the main course, and you mustn’t say a word, not only because it’s weird, but because… it’s a rule.
In Rules for Living, we invite you to join the Passover Seder of an especially eccentric family, but since you don’t know them, there’sa trick that will help you out: Their unspoken family rules will be displayed in giant letters for the entire audience to see, and think to themselves: "Thank goodness this isn’t my family."
An Israeli adaptation of Holcroft’s wild comedy that has been produced and performed all around the world.
